  • Federico Pérez Villoro & Chris Hamamoto

    Federico Pérez Villoro is an artist and researcher living between Mexico City and New York. Through texts, performances, and digital artifacts, Federico explores the materiality of language and impact of technology in socio-political behavior. His work has been exhibited internationally and recognized by institutions including Printed Matter, FONCA, and the Walker Art Center. Federico has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Rhode Island School of Design and California College of the Arts. He has lectured and acted as a visiting critic at schools such as CalArts, The New School, and Hongik University. In 2016, Pérez Villoro developed with Fundación Alumnos and Museo Tamayo, Second Thoughts, an educational program on contemporary art and design in Mexico City. Alongside Roxana Fabius, he is a co-founder of (human) learning, an itinerant study group on technology and aesthetics that has been hosted at P! in New York, Art Center/South Florida in Miami, and ZONAMACO in Mexico City. In 2013, he received an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

     

    Christopher Hamamoto is a Designer and Assistant Professor at California College of the Arts.

    Federico Pérez Villoro es un artista e investigador que vive y trabaja entre Nueva York y la Ciudad de México. A través de textos, performances y artefactos digitales, Federico explora la materialidad del lenguaje y el impacto de la tecnología en el comportamiento sociopolítico. Su trabajo ha sido exhibido internacionalmente y reconocido por instituciones como Printed Matter, FONCA y Walker Art Center. Federico ha sido docente de Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) y California College of the Arts (CCA) impartiendo clases de licenciatura y maestría. Así mismo, ha dado conferencias y participado como crítico invitado en escuelas como CalArts, Parsons, UConn y Hongik University. En el 2016 desarrolló Second Thoughts, un programa educativo en arte y diseño contemporáneo, con Fundación Alumnos y Museo Tamayo. Junto con Roxana Fabius, es co-fundador de (human) learning, un grupo de estudio itinerante enfocado en tecnología y estética que ha sido auspiciado por P! en Nueva York, Art Center/South Florida en Miami y ZONAMACO en la Ciudad de México. En el 2013 recibió un MFA de Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

     

    Christopher Hamamoto es un diseñador y profesor asistente en el Colegio de Artes de California.
